While the book remains to be a light and fun read, it pinches the soul and makes for a few teary-eyed reading moments. How the pacing of the story flow was made makes the reader be in that exact moments between the characters, as opposed to feeling the emotions only after scenes were read. It started in the middle of their story before it went on to the start, allowing for the time-frame to fit in only some hundreds of pages and allowing for Caitlin and Marcus's deep relationship be understood. Although the character is from the pop culture, the story line surprisingly is not mainstream at all. What's good is, one could feel the realness of emotions, tensions, hurt, love of the characters and between the characters (Caitlin and Marcus) instead of just reading it. Which is a fault of some books of the chic lit genre. The love story of Caitlin and Marcus is not something that was forced but flowed rather smoothly, with all the romance, rejection, bump and twists along the way. And though it wraps up happily, it didn't feel as though one just had a sugar overdose. It's the type of book that leaves all emotions with you even after reading it (as it did to me). To find and have that person in this chaotic world, your person, who knows, understands and loves you no matter what and makes you feel home, is truly rare. A treasure. And this book allows you to believe that there is such a person for each and everyone of us.
On a personal note, I related a lot to the heorine with regard to living in fear hence putting up too many walls. Reading how she slowly broke her walls, on her own pace, was inspiring! I was really surprised to find myself so involved in their story, especially since the hero was from a band (guess what band!) and I'm no pop band fan girl (Westlife being the last one to make me feel that way of course! LOL), that I had to shed some tears a few times towards the ending! Fangirls would enjoy this a whole lot! But if you are not one, I personally encourage you to read this book and allow yourself to let the story take you freely to different places and emotions you'd never expect to be.
