When dining out with company, one of the biggest problems would be differing preferences. While it is undeniably more fun to eat good food amid good people, the decision making part could be crucial. That problem can be solved by 3 food and 3 food only: Chicken, Pizza, and Burger. These 3 are the neutral ground. No one ever says no to these.
Originally in San Fernando Pampanga, I've only heard about Barneys Burger once but it was with much raving that I heard about it. I took this as a cue to once again pay a visit to my neighboring town Marikina, along its quaint food strip. Located on the far end of the strip, the restaurant offers a simple straight forward menu. And look at the prices!
It is always a delight to be able to feed your curiosity with the experience of trying it out and seeing for yourself. It didn't take us long to decide what to order. It was merienda time and this was the perfect filler to growling stomachs.
BBQ Burger (Regular) with French Fries

Barneys Burger prides itself for making their own beef patty mixture. The way their very own BBQ sauce was incorporated in their patty was superb; the natural juiciness and freshness of the beef was not compromised, rather, blended in such a way that the sauce enhanced the beef's flavor even more.

My sisters are strictly non-pork eaters so ANYTHING on the menu with Bacon is a sure win for me. In my opinion, how you cook (fry) a Bacon should depend on whether it is commercialized or gourmet. If the latter, a quick toss in the pan should suffice, and let it cook in its own oil. If the former, there should be no other way but to deep fry it to a crisp perfection. Barneys' was crunchy, which is especially great with burgers as it plays a symphonic crunch with the soft bun, salty cheese, and juicy patty.
Merienda is a big deal here in the Philippines. It is a mid day event that allows the body to recharge by sitting down and having a quick meal. And this, Barneys Burger's Burger, is a good energizer.
