Chubbies Qcina Cafe: Favorite Sisig Found

Lilac street in Marikina is tantamount to Quezon City's Maginhawa street, Paranaque's Aguirre street, and Pasig's kapitolyo. I have always heard people from Marikina take pride of their food strip and they are right to do so as they offer an array of interesting quaint establishments that offer good comfort food. It was the talked about Barney's burger that dragged my feet towards their quiet neighborhood, but it was in Chubbies Qcina that I found one of the best sisigs in the Metro- one of my favorites thus far.

This was initially my order but upon its arrival, my sister and I decided to share it. My sister and I are big eaters, and yet had almost half of the sisig wrapped for take home- which proves how generous the serving size is.

A generous amount of chicken sisig sits atop the sizzling plate, still crackling and forming a crunch beneath with the eggs slowly forming its crust as it gets cooked from the heat. The sisig was not dry, as some would serve, but it was not wet with mayo and sauce either. The flavorful diced chicken meat and liver is tender with the right crisp here and there.

Chubbies Qcina Cafe

Chubbies Qcina Cafe is one of those unassuming establishments that hides some of its treasures from its simple facade. Had I judged from the outside and not entered, I would not know that the inside is dimly lit, with polished wooden chairs to make the vibe cozy and warm. I wouldn't assume the the restaurant's menu is inspired by travels from other countries, as evident from the souvenirs and memorabilia from all over the globe randomly displayed on the restaurant's walls and shelves.

With my foodie sister- my favorite food trip buddy.

There are lots of other interesting food on the menu that I would go back for, like their pizza selection and the Lechon Macau. They also have solo silog orders, inspired by our culture of course, for less than a hundred pesos. Good for a quick meal.

What do you think about the place, Belles and Beaux of the Boulevard? :)
