The Shop
The very first time that I saw this shop was during the Blogapalooza 2013 event, which co-incidentally was also the first big blogging event that I was able to attend to. Running low on energy at 9 in the evening after almost a whole day of talking to brands, tasting food and testing products, listening to and joining forums/seminars, and interacting with people from the industry, this bread shop jolted and woke up my senses. My sisters also loved the breads and pastries that I bought for them. Since then this has been a favorite of mine. Ironically, I never had the chance to blog about it.
...Until now. When my sisters and I, together with my niece, for the nth time visited the shop, I made sure that a blog post be drafted.
Breadtalk comes to mind when we hear bread shop. What makes this different from the former however is its variety. In a way, Ovn is more experimental and tad bit more broad in terms of the bread they produce. Apart from the usual bread rolls and buns, they have breads that border pastries, and then some. They also have tarts, which is separated and placed on a chilled shelf near the counter.
I had the chance to taste more than half of what Ovn has to offer, and is almost always pleased and satisfied with what I put in my mouth. And the proportion of the size and price ratio is equal. I am still waiting and hoping for a branch opening in Quezon City though.
The Take Out

My sister Tricia loved this, which I oppose. Don't get me wrong, they have perfected the taste, which is neither too bitter nor too sweet. It is the perfect palate cleanser- the very reason why I would set this aside. Yes, I am all for pangtanggal umay, but not one that would completely eradicate the remnant of flavors lingering in my tongue from a delicious meal I just had. I have my toothbrush for that. ;)
