The Real Score - Author Interview
In your profile, it said you’re a self-confessed fan girl. Do you have a peg band when you formed the characters of the band in the book?
Thanks! Yes. I think the fans of this band would get the ‘nods’ I made in the book to the band. I’ve only recently ‘discovered’ them, and I’m amused at how genuine they seem to be. (*whispers* Yes, it’s 1D.)
I think every writer puts a part of himself or herself in each of their characters. I think in a way, me and Caitlin are similar in how she’s cautious of taking risks. But I’ve learned that it’s fun taking that leap from time to time. That unexpected adventures and opportunities open up for you when you take risks :)
It’s been said before and I could sound like a parrot for repeating it but: keep writing and don’t stop. Write when you’re sad, when you’re happy, when you’re mad. Write about something you’re curious about or about something you’ve never done before. Use emotions and life experiences to fuel what you write. And then take risks. Submit your stories. Self-publish. Post them online for other people to read. But don’t forget that at the end of the day, you still write for yourself, because it makes you happy and it fulfills you. Because it’s your passion. Don’t lose that :)
What was the hardest part of making the novel/book? (If any)
Coming up with the complete manuscript! You get stuck, and sometimes you get tempted to leave it unfinished, but you’d have to barrel through that writer’s block. And then revisions. Those are killers. Having a good editor helps! :)
Lastly, there are quite a few of kilig moments in the story; do you have a personal favorite scene?
The scene in Marcus’ bedroom, where Caitlin discovers Marcus’ lock tattoo and the happy place scene. (side note TBOAB: A personal favorite too! The subtle-ness of the scene and the pureness of C and M's connection here brought many good emotions) And—while it’s not a kilig scene—the scene in the dressing room of the interview. I shed tears writing that one! (side note TBOAB: me too!)
Please, invite our readers and future book owners :)
Hi! I hope you can get The Real Score. Take a chance, maybe you would find my book fun? :)

Caitlin's friendship with Marcus, the de facto frontman of the world's biggest boy band Gezellig, has long been an object of scrutiny by almost everyone--their friends and families, the media, and his fans--ever since they "went public" a couple of years back.
Who wouldn't be interested? She was a nobody, catapulted into the limelight of his fame when he struck an unusual friendship with her.
To both Caitlin and Marcus, what they have is a "perfect little thing." But then something comes along and threatens it.
In a no-holds-barred interview, will they finally be forced to settle the score?
